Intellegix News is a single-operator local news site. We measure traffic with a privacy-preserving, first-party analytics layer — no third-party ad or tracking networks, and nothing is sold or shared for cross-context behavioral advertising.

What we log for analytics

For each page request our server records only this metadata:

• The request method, path, and HTTP status code
• How long the response took (milliseconds)
• The referring page and browser user-agent string
• A one-way, daily-rotating visitor hash used to count unique visitors within a single day

What we deliberately do not collect

• We do not store your IP address. It is used only to compute the daily hash and is never written to disk.
• No tracking cookies are used to identify you, and there is no cross-day or cross-site identifier — the visitor hash resets every UTC midnight.
• No query strings and no form-field values are captured. What you type is never recorded.

Authenticated staff (operator) sessions may additionally be traced for debugging. Anonymous visitor sessions are not.

Retention

Analytics rows are pruned automatically; we keep them only as long as needed for traffic measurement and abuse/bot detection.

Your choices — opt out

We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal and the legacy Do Not Track (DNT) header. If your browser or an extension sends either signal, our server skips analytics capture for your requests entirely. You can enable GPC in privacy-focused browsers (or via extensions such as Privacy Badger / DuckDuckGo) — no action on this site is required.
